New Delhi | Covacine stock has become vacant a week after the Kovid vaccination campaign was launched for people aged 18 to 44 in the national capital. The Delhi government recently said that it would vaccinate all the citizens of the national capital in the next three months, but on Wednesday it said that the cocaine stock at all the centers has been completely emptied.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that Hyderabad-based covacine manufacturer Bharat Biotech has refused to supply additional doses to Delhi under instructions from the central government.
Sisodia also accused the Center of mismanaging the vaccine and controlling the supply of Covid vaccine. He said that the Delhi government had ordered 67 lakh doses for both vaccines – Covaxin and Covishield.
On May 7, an order from the Delhi government for the purchase of additional doses of covaxine, Bharat Biotech responded, “Our vaccine demand has increased unprecedentedly and we are unable to meet demand despite increasing production every month Are. Further, we are sending as per the instructions of the concerned government officials. We regret that we cannot supply any additional as per your (Delhi Government) requirement. ”
Sisodia shared a letter from India Biotech on his Twitter handle and said that vaccine manufacturing companies say that the central government will decide who gets the vaccine.
The AAP government had already warned about the lack of cocaine on Tuesday.
The Delhi government started a vaccination campaign for people in the age group of 18 to 44 on 4 May. More than half of the city’s population reached all 301 vaccination centers.
According to the Delhi government, about 92 lakh people in the age group of 18 to 44 are eligible to be vaccinated.
