Covid 19: 30 percent reduction in CBSE syllabus

New Delhi: | Syllabus of students from class 9 to 12 has been cut in view of corona epidemic infection. The syllabus has been reduced to 30 percent as much as possible while retaining the core concepts. This deduction will be limited to the current academic year only. At present, only students of classes 9 to 12 will be benefited. Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, “In view of the current situation arising due to Corona, it has been decided to cut CBSE syllabus from class 9 to 12 by 30 percent. This deduction in CBSE syllabus will be valid only for this year 2020-21. ”

Nishank said, “In the wake of the Corona epidemic, I had invited concrete suggestions fromacademics across the country on the subject of syllabus reduction. I am happy to inform that more than 1500 academics across the country have sent their suggestions on this subject. ”

In fact, due to the Corona epidemic, the working days of schools have been reduced this year. The possibility of opening of school by the month of August is extremely low. Most students are being educated through online mediums. In such a situation, now the students themselves, parents and teachers are also in favor of reducing the curriculum of the students.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, “In view of the extraordinary situation arising across the country due to corona, CBSE has been advised to reschedule its syllabus and reduce syllabus.”

The reduced curriculum will not be a part of the subjects prescribed for board examinations and internal assessment. The school leader and teacher will also ensure that students explain the reduced content to combine different topics. The revised syllabus will be available on the academic website of CBSE.
