Delhi: Demolition outside CM House, BJP workers break the camera

NEW DELHI| On Sunday evening, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house was ransacked. The Chief Minister’s Office has accused BJP leaders of sabotage. The Aam Aadmi Party has also released a video in which BJP workers are seen breaking the CCTV camera outside the Chief Minister’s residence. BJP workers and corporators have been protesting outside the CM House for the past several days.

The Aam Aadmi Party said, “BJP workers staging a sit-in outside the Chief Minister’s residence vandalized here Sunday evening. Damage to government property. CCTV cameras were smashed in the presence of several BJP leaders.”

North Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Jai Prakash said, “The BJP’s female councilor was sleeping outside the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday. People from the CM office started installing cameras. The women councilors opposed it.”

The leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party alleged that BJP leaders and workers have damaged the government property at the CM residence. CCTV cameras were broken here. Aam Aadmi Party leaders alleged that BJP leaders are committing violence under the patronage of Delhi Police.

Earlier, BJP leaders have been accused of attacking Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s house. In the absence of the Deputy Chief Minister, his house was ransacked. Delhi Police has arrested six BJP workers in this case.

Earlier, on Sunday morning, Delhi Police took into custody nine people, including six Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, before staging a sit-in at the residence of Home Minister Amit Shah and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. These MLAs are demanding the CBI to investigate the alleged scam in the Municipal Corporation. On this demand, the Home Minister and the Lieutenant Governor were going to picket the MLA outside the residence.

The MLAs who have been detained include Raghav Chaddha, Deputy Chairman of Delhi Jalboard, Atishi, Kuldeep Kumar, Rituraj Govind, Sanjeev Jha etc.

These MLAs said that just as BJP leaders have been allowed to protest outside the Chief Minister’s residence, similarly they should also be allowed to protest outside the Lt. Governor and Home Minister’s residence. However, the police took these MLAs into custody before any kind of demonstration.
