DMK panics after NDA rally: Tamil Nadu BJP

Chennai, Jan 28 Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad has hit back at the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu, saying there is political panic within the party. He also defended AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami against the DMK’s attacks following the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rally in Madurantakam.

BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad criticized Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and DMK MP Kanimozhi, who repeatedly called Palaniswami a “slave” of the BJP. He said such language demonstrates the DMK’s inability to counter the NDA’s growing momentum ahead of the 2026 assembly elections. The BJP spokesperson said the Madurantakam rally clearly signals a shift across Tamil Nadu.

He claimed that the large turnout has unnerved the DMK leadership, especially Chief Minister MK Stalin and his family members. ANS Prasad said they are increasingly worried about losing political ground.

The BJP spokesperson said that under the coordination of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the NDA has emerged as a united and disciplined alliance in the state. He further said, “Palaniswami, along with Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran, toured extensively across the state to expose corruption, governance failures, and unfulfilled promises under the DMK government.”

ANS Prasad strongly objected to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statements questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s outreach to women voters. He called these comments “irresponsible and misleading” and said that the central government’s women-centric welfare schemes have benefited millions of families in Tamil Nadu.

The spokesperson said that the presence of Prime Minister Modi and Palaniswami together symbolizes the “double-engine governance model” that the alliance wants to present to voters in 2026. He said that the NDA is committed to development, administrative stability, and transparent governance.

The BJP also accused the DMK of resorting to personal attacks to divert public attention from concerns about inflation, law and order, and alleged corruption. Prasad concluded by stating that the NDA is confident of securing a clear majority in the 2026 assembly elections and forming the next government in Tamil Nadu.
