Doctors protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demand to implement Central Protection Act

New Delhi, A gathering of doctors was once again seen at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Saturday. Doctors united at Jantar Mantar with their demands. The doctors demand that the Central Protection Act be implemented, so that the safety of doctors can be ensured.

This demonstration has been done to demand the safety of doctors, who are in danger due to increasing violence across the country. Delhi Sales Medical Representative Organization and other organizations participated in this demonstration, which have united to demand the safety of doctors. Doctors say that violence on doctors is increasing across the country, and the government should implement the Central Protection Act for the safety of doctors.

The reason behind this demonstration is the case of rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College, which has enraged the doctors. The doctors demand that a CBI inquiry should be conducted in this case and the culprit should be hanged as soon as possible.

Federation of All India Medical Association (FAISA) president Rohan Krishna said, “Today we have gathered at Jantar Mantar because one of our sisters, who was a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College, has been raped and murdered. A CBI inquiry is underway in this case, but our demand is that the investigation should be done speedily and the culprit should be hanged.”

He further said, “Apart from this, our demand is that the Central Protection Act should be implemented for the safety of doctors. Violent incidents against doctors are increasing across the country and doctors are not safe. We have come to protest at Jantar Mantar with these demands.”

Dr Neelam said, “It is very important to implement the Central Protection Act for doctors. We try to save every patient coming to the hospital, but sometimes the patients come in a very critical condition. Many times, despite all efforts, we are unable to save the patients, after which vandalism and violence start in the hospital. Doctors are scared today, there is an atmosphere of fear among them. Therefore, our demand is that the Central Protection Act should be implemented, so that the safety of doctors can be ensured.”
