Egypt sends aid to Lebanon facing Israeli attack, plane lands at Beirut airport carrying 22 tonnes of relief material

Cairo, 6 October Egypt has sent 22 tonnes of humanitarian aid to help Lebanon facing Israeli attack. According to news agency Xinhua, the Foreign Ministry said that the plane carrying the aid includes medicines and medical supplies and has landed at Beirut airport.

Let us tell you that Egyptian President Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi had given instructions to help Lebanon and its people in response to the ‘Israeli invasion’.

The ministry informed that the Egyptian Embassy in Lebanon helped 286 stranded Egyptians return to their homeland on a special flight operated by Egypt-Air.

Earlier, nine Turkish NGOs announced to send 1,300 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Lebanon to help the Lebanese people.

During the first phase, goods in 80 containers will be delivered to Lebanon by an aid ship, Xinhua news agency quoted Hurriyet Daily as saying.

At a press conference, representatives of NGOs said that they had already suspected that Israel could extend the Gaza conflict to Lebanon, so they had started procuring emergency relief materials months ago.

Kemal Ozdal, head of the Sadakatasi Charity Association, said on Thursday, “Through this humanitarian aid ship, our goal is to deliver essential goods to the people in Lebanon, including food, canned goods, mattresses, blankets, hygiene products, baby diapers, underwear, mats and tents.”

Let us tell you that Israel has been carrying out heavy air strikes in Lebanon for the last several days. It says that Hezbollah members and bases are being targeted in this action. Along with this, the Jewish nation has also started a ‘limited’ ground military operation in Lebanon.

Israeli attacks have caused massive devastation in Lebanon. The total number of displaced people in Lebanon has reached about 12 lakh. The Disaster Risk Management Unit of the Lebanese Council of Ministers has given this information in a report.

According to a Saturday report by Al Jazeera, the Lebanese Health Ministry says that so far more than 2,000 people have been killed in Israeli attacks across the country, including 127 children and 261 women.
