New Delhi: Even on the first day of the new Parliament, the game of accusations and counter-accusations continued between the ruling party and the opposition. Speaking as the first speaker in the Lok Sabha of the new Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pointed towards the ruckus created by the opposition parties in the old Parliament and the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024.
He said that the elections are still far away, but in the time we have left, the way one behaves here (in the new Parliament) will determine who will be able to sit here (in the ruling party). Who is behaving to sit there (opposition)?
The Prime Minister further said that the country will see this in the times to come and this will be reflected in their behaviour. He advised changing the feelings and sentiments along with the new building and said that Parliament is not for party interest only and only for the interest of the country. Everyone should forget all the bitterness of the past and move forward.
Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, who stood up to speak after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took a dig at the Prime Minister’s statement regarding his behavior and said on the advice of dignity of the Parliament, that the Deputy Speaker has not yet been made in this Parliament, who is the leader of the country’s Parliament. This has happened for the first time in history.
While reading the Constitution, he raised many issues including democracy, freedom, equality of all religions and said that the Constitution is supreme for us. Referring to Article 1 of the Constitution, he said that there is no difference between India and India in the Constitution and it would be better if no attempt is made to create a rift in it.
He also alleged that the way efforts are being made to create a rift, people are feeling that Hindutva already exists, will Hinditva also come?
