New Delhi: US President Joe Biden reached New Delhi on Friday evening to attend the G20 summit. Minister V.K. Singh welcomed him.
Biden reached Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence directly from the airport for a bilateral meeting.
According to reports, the two leaders are likely to discuss a range of issues during the bilateral meeting, including the deal for fighter jet engines, the purchase of Predator drones and cooperation on critical and emerging technologies like 5G and 6G networks.
Before leaving for New Delhi, Biden had posted on “…focused on making progress on America’s priorities, working for developing countries, and showing our commitment to the G20 as a forum that can get things done.”
Biden, 80, got himself tested for Covid-19 before his departure and his result was negative.
The White House had said that he would follow COVID-19 guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) during his visit to India and Vietnam.
Earlier this week, 72-year-old First Lady Jill Biden was found infected with Kovid-19 on 4 September.
