Govt might bring IITs, IIMs under online education system, UGC, AICTE will suggest this…

NEW DELHI: PM Modi govt. last time launched the “New Education Policy” is now going to implement some big changes in the India’s education system and has asked advice in this matter from the University Grant Commission (UGC) and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

The Centre is planning to convert the education system into fully online education system. This will certainly reduce the burden on educational institutions for running offline classes for the students.

The Centre is also planning to make the online education ystem for IITs and IIMs and asked suggestions from the UGC and the AICTE in this regard.

AICTE chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe and Dr MP Poonia, who is the Vice-Chairman of the UGC, would be preparing a blueprint in this matter.

In a letter to all Vice-Chancellors and directors of institutions, AICTE chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe had recently asked them to make India ”self-reliant” and help achieve the national goal of being ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also asked Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) to develop Indian apps against the Chinese apps.

The upcoming academic session will begin in the month of September or October as it is delaying due to the ongoing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic. Moreover, the government might be planning to introduce the policy before the new session starts.
