Here’s why Boney Kapoor’s Mili is the most challenging role yet for Janhvi Kapoor

Janhvi Kapoor’s Mili comes from a freezing backdrop and the prep of it makes it the most challenging role the actress has taken yet

Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios’ produced survival thriller-drama ‘Mili’ is almost out and it’s the breathtaking reveals from the film that is increasing our intrigue. Janhvi Kapoor starring Mili is the most challenging role the actress has played yet. As is apparent from the trailer, the film captures Kapoor amid a freezing ambience and portrays her endless struggles to survive.

Kapoor undeniably attempts a fresh genre with Mili. Her dedication and authentic character-play are visible in the trailer of the film. The fact that Kapoor had to shoot for the film in -17 degrees makes our hair stand on end! With no thermal wear (Mili’s accidental entrapment in the freezer) and constant shooting in the low gradient temperature, Kapoor faced a great struggle to portray Mili as genuine as possible. The portrayal of the consequential effect of the entrapment was the hardest for the actress. The endless shivers and the cyanotic effect (blue discolouration of the skin) due to the freezing temperatures were to be portrayed by her. We can only imagine what the situation could be. Apart from the actress, the whole cast and crew had to suffer constant cold and discomforts.

Mili is certainly the most challenging project opted by Kapoor and she has been so far entrepreneurial. Taking risks, choosing out-of-the-course subjects and diverting from the typical heroine roles, she is embracing a different aspect of being an actor. Mili is going to mark the first-ever collab of the father-daughter duo and is the Hindi remake of director Mathukutty Xavier’s own Malayalam film Helen.

Zee Studios’ Mili is produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Mathukutty Xavier. The music is given by music composer A.R Rahman and lyrics by the legendary Javed Akhtar. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa in pivotal roles and is scheduled to release in cinemas on 4th November 2022.
