New Delhi, August 15, 2025 – Hindu College, University of Delhi, marked its 79th Independence Day celebration with great enthusiasm and fervor. The Principal of Hindu College, Prof. Anju Srivastava, amidst students, faculty, and non-teaching staff, hoisted the national flag in the college campus, paying homage to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence.
In her address, the Principal highlighted the significance of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, which was enthusiastically participated in by the NSS volunteers and non-teaching and faculty members. Additionally, the NCC cadets of Hindu College Navy Wing organized a Tiranga Prabhat Feri, showcasing their patriotic spirit. She also informed that two NCC cadets from Hindu College, namely Sabhya Kumar and Abhishek, have been selected to participate in the Independence Day celebration event at the Red Fort.
The Principal lauded the Operation Sindoor led by the country’s defense forces, highlighting the nation’s unity. Addressing the students, she emphasized that their personalities are groomed and nurtured within the college, ultimately contributing to the nation’s progress. She urged students to leverage education, regular classes, and self-study to drive positive change.
Highlighting the college’s rich legacy, she noted its origins in 1899 were closely tied to India’s nationalist movement. The Principal emphasized that the college’s pillars are built on devotion, dedication, and a commitment to nation-building through knowledge sharing.
Also, under the ‘Swachhata Campaign’ driven by the NCC wing, the Principal planted five saplings in the lawn of the campus. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to contributing to the nation’s growth and development.
