Islamabad. Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested on Saturday from his Zaman Park residence in Lahore, soon after his conviction in the Toshakhana case.
A district and sessions court convicted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman in the Toshakhana case and sentenced him to three years in prison, Geo News reported.
Meanwhile, the court rejected the petition related to the demand for rejection of Imran Khan’s case.
Additional and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan to three years imprisonment. He said in his judgment that the allegation of mis-declaration of assets against the PTI chairman has been proved.
He then issued an arrest warrant for Imran Khan, imposing a jail term of three years and a fine of PKR 1,00,000.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan had challenged the Toshakhana case related to the alleged mis-declaration of gifts taken from the state gift store at several forums including the Supreme Court and the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Geo News reported.
