In Kerala, BJP gave the ticket to Metroman Sreedharan, MP KJ Alphons

New Delhi | The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday announced the names of 112 candidates for the Kerala assembly elections. The party has fielded 88-year-old Metroman Dr. E. Sreedharan from Palakkad. Voting is to be held on April 6 for a total of 140 assembly seats in the state. The National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Arun Singh said that the names of the candidates of Kerala were confirmed in the meeting of the Central Election Committee held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National President JP Nadda. The party has decided to contest 112 seats in Kerala.

He informed that E. Sreedharan from Palakkad, Rajya Sabha MP from Thrissur, Suresh Gopi, IPS officer from Irinjalakuda and former DGP Dr. Jacob Thomas will contest. Former Kerala DGP Jacob Thomas joined BJP in February this year in the presence of National President JP Nadda.

According to the list announced by the Bharatiya Janata Party, former Union Minister and sitting Rajya Sabha MP KJ Alphons will contest from Kanjirapalli. Anoop Antony Joseph, the face of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, has been given the ticket for the assembly elections from the Ambalapuzha seat.
