Patna, April 11 Veteran Bollywood actor and TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying its political strategy will not succeed in West Bengal.
While speaking to media in Patna on Saturday, Shatrughan Sinha referred to a recently viral video and claimed that it contained a lot of truth and exposed the BJP’s alleged conspiracies.
According to Sinha, TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, with his ingenuity, exposed the BJP’s ‘1,000 crore deal’ scam, the effects of which are now visible across the country.
Sinha also criticized the BJP’s “washing machine” approach, alleging that leaders accused of corruption are inducted into the party and later acquitted of the charges.
Citing incidents in Maharashtra, he said that people previously accused in major scams were given key positions after joining the BJP.
He questioned whether similar action would be taken against leaders facing allegations in West Bengal.
Praising Mamata Banerjee, Shatrughan Sinha called her the “Iron Lady” and described her leadership as tested and proven.
He asserted that the people of West Bengal stand firmly with her and expressed confidence that the TMC will achieve a decisive victory in the upcoming elections.
Shatrughan Sinha also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging that many of their past promises have not been fulfilled.
He cited assurances such as large-scale employment generation and financial benefits, saying that these have now become the subject of public criticism.
Raising the issue of pending funds under MNREGA (now VBJI Ram Ji), he alleged that large sums earmarked for beneficiaries in West Bengal have not yet been released by the central government.
Sinha’s comments have further intensified political rhetoric ahead of the elections, as parties in West Bengal are trading sharp accusations and counter-accusations.
