Know the details of the election program announced in 5 states including Bengal, Tamil Nadu

New Delhi | The Election Commission has announced the schedule of assembly elections to be held in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry. Polling will be held in the states from March 27 to April 29 and election results on May 2. Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced the election dates by holding a press conference at Vigyan Bhawan on Friday. Three stages in Assam

Voting will take place in three phases for a total of 126 assembly seats in Assam. In the first phase, votes will be cast in 47 assembly seats in 12 districts. The first phase notification will be issued on March 2, voting on March 27 and results on May 2. The 39 assembly seats in 13 districts will be contested in the second phase. The second phase notification will be issued on March 5, voting on April 1 and results on May 2. In the third phase, voting will be held on April 6 for 40 assembly seats in 12 districts. Notification of this phase will be issued on 12 March.

8 stages in Bengal

Elections will be held in eight phases for a total of 294 seats in West Bengal. First phase notification will be issued on March 2, voting will be held on March 27, results will be out on May 2. Similarly, in the second phase, voting will be held on April 1 for 30 assembly seats in four districts including Bankura, West Medinipur. In Bengal, the third phase notification will be issued on March 12 and voting will be held on April 6. A total of 31 assembly seats will be contested in the third phase. The notification for the 44 assembly seats of the five districts of the fourth phase will be issued on March 16 and voting will be held on April 10. The notification for the 45 assembly seats of the fifth phase will be issued on 23 March, Madan will be on 17 April. The sixth phase notification will be issued on 26 March, voting will be on 22 April. In the sixth phase elections will be held for 43 assembly seats in four districts. The seventh phase notification will be released on 31 March, Voting will take place on April 26. Elections will be held in 36 seats in the seventh phase. Similarly, notification for the 35 assembly seats of the eighth phase will be issued on March 31 and voting will be held on April 29. The results of all the phases will come together on 2 May.

Only one phase in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry,

Chief Election Commissioner said that elections will be held in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in only one phase. He informed that notification will be issued on March 12 for all three states. Nominations can be made by 19 March. On April 6, the three states will vote together and the results will be out on May 2. Polls will be held for 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu, 140 in Kerala and 30 assembly seats in Puducherry
