Lok Sabha elections: 96.8 crore voters will vote, participation of women also increased

New Delhi, The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the dates and phases of the Lok Sabha elections. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar presented all the data.

The first phase of Lok Sabha elections will be held on April 19, the second phase on April 26, the third phase on May 7, the fourth phase on May 13, the fifth phase on May 20, the sixth phase on May 25 and the seventh phase on Voting will take place on June 1. The results will be announced on June 4.

This time in the biggest festival of democracy, 96.8 crore voters across the country will cast their votes, out of which the number of male voters is 49.7 crore and the number of female voters is 47.1 crore. The number of first time voters in this is 1.82 crore. This time, the figures of voters aged between 21 to 29 years have also been included in Young Voters, out of which 19.74 crore voters will exercise their vote.

Along with this, the Election Commission has also revealed the number of elderly voters, in which there are 82 lakh voters above 85 years of age. At the same time, there are 2.18 lakh voters above the age of 100 years.

The Chief Election Commissioner has said that this time the number of transgender voters is 48 lakh. There are 88.4 lakh disabled voters. Along with this, there are 2.18 lakh service electors. This time women are also expected to participate enthusiastically in this biggest festival of democracy. This time the number of female voters aged 18 to 19 years is 85.3 lakh. Along with this, there are 12 states across the country where the ratio of women voters is more than 1,000 thousand compared to men.

The Chief Election Commissioner said that even big celebrities have been asked to motivate the youth as much as possible and inspire them to come forward for their participation in this biggest festival of democracy. This time, the new voters will be our ambassadors and hopefully they will inspire more and more people.
