Assembly election dates also announced in four states

New Delhi. The Election Commission announced on Saturday the dates of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as well as the assembly elections to be held in four states. The states where assembly elections will be held include Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

Announcing the dates of assembly elections to be held in the four states, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that along with the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 19, elections will be held in a single phase on all the assembly seats of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. At the same time, in Andhra Pradesh too, state elections will be held in a single phase, and this date will be May 13, on which the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections will be held.

Talking about Odisha, assembly elections will be held here in four phases. Voting will be held on May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1. The results will be announced on June 4.

The results of the assembly elections of the four states will be declared along with the Lok Sabha elections on June 4. Along with this, Rajiv Kumar said that by-elections will also be held on 26 assembly seats. This includes Gujarat, Bihar, Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu.

This time also Lok Sabha elections will be conducted in seven phases. The first phase of voting will take place on April 19. Whereas, voting will be held on April 26 for the second phase, May 7 for the third phase, May 13 for the fourth phase, May 20 for the fifth phase, May 25 for the sixth phase, and June 1 for the seventh and final phase. After this, the results of assembly elections and by-elections along with Lok Sabha will be announced on June 4.
