Maha Kumbh: Great record of devotees in Maha Kumbh, number of people taking dip crosses 50 crore

Mahakumbh Nagar, February 14  The divine and grand religious, cultural gathering ‘Mahakumbh 2025’, which has been going on since January 13 on the land of Teerthraj Prayagraj, has now created history. So far, more than 50 crore devotees have set a unique example of religious and cultural unity by taking a holy dip of Sanatan faith in the Triveni Sangam.

This number of more than 50 crore has become the largest participation in human history till date in any religious, cultural or social event. The size of this huge gathering can be estimated from the fact that only the population of India and China in the world is more than the number of people coming here. With the well-organized efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath government, this ancient tradition of India has enchanted the whole world with its divinity and grandeur.

According to a report of the US Census Bureau, the top 10 countries in terms of population among more than 200 nations of the world are India (1,41,93,16,933), China (1,40,71,81,209), America (34,20,34,432), Indonesia (28,35,87,097), Pakistan (25,70,47,044), Nigeria (24,27,94,751), Brazil (22,13,59,387), Bangladesh (17,01,83,916), Russia (14,01,34,279) and Mexico (13,17,41,347).

On the other hand, if we look at the number of devotees visiting Maha Kumbh so far (50 crores crossed), then only the population of India and China is more than the number of devotees visiting here. Whereas, the population of America, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Brazil, Bangladesh, Russia and Mexico is also far behind this. This shows that Maha Kumbh is no longer just a festival, but it has become a symbol of the huge form of Sanatan Dharma.

The bathing of saints, devotees, Kalpvasis, bathers and householders filled with devotion and faith in the holy confluence of Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna and invisible Maa Saraswati has crossed the peak, which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had hoped for even before the Maha Kumbh. CM Yogi had already predicted that the grand and divine Maha Kumbh being organized this time will set a new record of the number of bathers. He had expressed the possibility of 45 crore devotees coming in the beginning itself.

His assessment proved true on February 11 itself. Whereas, on Friday (February 14), this number has reached above 50 crore. There are still 12 days and one important bathing festival left in the Maha Kumbh. It is expected that this number of devotees can go above 55 to 60 crores.

If we analyse the total number of devotees who have taken bath till now, the maximum number of devotees, 8 crore, took bath on Mauni Amavasya, while 3.5 crore devotees took Amrit bath on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.

On 1 February and 30 January, more than 2 crore devotees took holy dip and on Paush Purnima, 1.7 crore devotees took holy dip, apart from this, on Basant Panchami, 2.57 crore devotees took holy dip in Triveni. On the important bathing festival of Maghi Purnima, more than 2 crore devotees took holy dip in Sangam.
