Maharashtra police raid in hyderabad nab 2 naxalites absconding for 17 years

Gadchiroli (Maharashtra) | Maharashtra Police has arrested two dreaded Maoists, who were on the run from the law for the last 17 years, in a raid in Hyderabad. An official gave this information here on Monday. Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police Nilotpal said they were 42-year-old Madhukar Chinna Kodape alias Thuge and his wife Jamani Mangalu Poonam alias Shamla (35).

Thuge, who hails from Aheri here, had joined Sironcha Dalam in 2002 and was later a commander in Jimalgata and Sironcha Local Organization Squad (LOS).

He has 9 murder, 8 encounter, 4 arson, 2 dacoity, attempt to murder and 25 other serious cases registered against him. These people absconded in 2006 and the Maharashtra government had announced a reward of Rs 8 lakh for their capture.

Shamala, who belongs to Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, worked as a member of the Aheri LOS and had 9 serious offenses of 1 murder, 5 encounters, arson, dacoity etc. and carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh on her head.

As per the Maharashtra Police investigation, the fugitive Shamala couple had allegedly left the Maoist movement and were moving from place to place in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to escape.

The Gadchiroli police had been tracking them for more than a year and finally found one of them working as a watchman and Shamala in housekeeping of a car showroom under fake identities.

A team of Gadchiroli police raided his hideout in Hyderabad this morning and arrested him.

With this latest success, the Gadchiroli police said that it has arrested 64 hardcore Naxalites from different parts in the last 13 months from January 2022, even as SP Nilotpal appealed to the rebels to lay down arms and return to the social mainstream. is of.
