Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday congratulated Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on his 55th birthday. Banerjee wished the Bollywood star all the best through Twitter. He wrote, “Happy Birthday. Wish you good health and all successes in life.”
He called King Khan a ‘Charming brother’ and wished him success in future works.
Significantly, since the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress came to power in 2011, Shah Rukh Khan is the official brand ambassador of the West Bengal government. Khan also has strong ties with the state government to promote Bengal’s film industry with Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF).
The state’s Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Minister and former Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim also wished SRK a happy birthday. He wrote on Twitter, “May your life be happy”.
