Mumbai| The stock market of the country rose on Monday from the general budget. As soon as the budget speech of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman started in the Lok Sabha, the major index of the country’s stock market Sensex and Nifty started climbing. The Sensex had jumped over 1700 points to cross the 48,000 marks from the previous session and the Nifty was up over 14,000 by over 450 points. The Sensex was trading at 47,920.57, up 1,634.80 points or 3.53 percent from the previous session at 13.23 pm, while the Nifty was up 459.15 points or 3.37 percent at 14,093.75.
The 30-share Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) based major Sensex Sensex opened with a strong gain of 332.18 points at 46,617.95 from the previous session and rose to 48,004.71 while the low was 45,543.25.
The National Stock Exchange (BSE) Nifty, a major sensitive index based on 50 stocks, also opened up by 124 points to 13,758.60 from the previous session and rose to 14,113.55 while the Nifty closed at 13,696.10.
