Five soldiers were killed during the encounter while seven CRPF personnel went missing. CRPF IG (Operations) CG Arora told IANS, “We have started a new operation this morning to trace the seven missing CRPF personnel. We had to stop the operation as it was night on Saturday. We have so far had our two CRPF and three DRGs. Personnel has been lost. However, the wounded personnel is still out of danger. ”
Arora said that two CRPF personnel were martyred in an encounter with Naxalites, one belonged to the Central Armed Forces unit Cobra (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) and the other belonged to the Bastaria battalion.
Condoling the soldiers who were martyred in the campaign, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday, “The fight against the rebels of peace will continue.”
