NDMC approved citizen-centric infrastructure proposals in its Council Meeting

New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in its Council Meeting held today presided over by Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs & Culture, Govt. of India – Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi in the presence of Chairperson – NDMC, Shri. Amit Yadav, Vice-Chairperson- Shri Satish Upadhyay, MLA & Member NDMC, Shri Virender Singh Kadian, other Council Members – Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Smt. Vishakha Sailani, Shri Girish Sachdeva, Shri Ravi Kumar Arora and Secretary – NDMC, Dr. Ankita Chakravarty considered and approved the various citizen centric infrastructure proposals.

The important citizen centric, infrastructures proposals are as follows:

  1. NDMC Policy regarding installation of communication towers by Cellular and Basic Telecom Operators on Rooftop/ Ground Base within the premises and in the area under the jurisdiction of the NDMC.

 Council approved to circulate NDMC Draft Cellular Tower Policy for inviting public comments including various cellular operators and infrastructure providers.

  1. Engagement of consultant for management of NDMC surplus/deficit power through sale/purchase at Energy Exchange.

The Council approved to appoint M/S NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. as Consultant for management of NDMC surplus/deficit power through sale/purchase at Energy Exchange.

  1. Policy for allotment and usage of municipal spaces by Government bodies.

The Council approved the renewal the policy to make any new allotments to government bodies, as per Section 141 of the NDMC Act 1994
