New Delhi: In a proud celebration of academic excellence and holistic development, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) today felicitated over 55 meritorious students of its Atal Adarsh Vidyalayas and Navyug Schools for their exceptional performance in the CBSE Secondary and Senior Secondary Examinations for the academic session 2024–25, as well as for their achievements in extra-curricular activities.
The awards ceremony was held at the NDMC Convention Centre, NDCC Phase-II, Palika Kendra, New Delhi, in the gracious presence of NDMC Chairman Shri Keshav Chandra and NDMC Council Member Shri Dinesh Pratap Singh.
The distinguished students were honoured for securing the highest marks overall as well as subject-wise in Classes X and XII. The Chairman felicitated the students with awards that included trophies, certificates, and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 each. Students excelling in sports and co-curricular activities were also honoured for their remarkable achievements.
Addressing the gathering, NDMC Chairman Shri Keshav Chandra congratulated the students and praised the collective efforts of teachers and parents in shaping the success of the young achievers. He remarked that true success is achieved through dedication, discipline, determination, and hard work.
Emphasizing the importance of perseverance in the pursuit of knowledge, he encouraged students to continue striving for excellence with sincerity and commitment. Highlighting the remarkable academic achievements of NDMC schools, Shri Keshav Chandra proudly announced that NDMC’s Atal Adarsh Vidyalayas recorded a 100% pass percentage in the Class X CBSE examinations this year, describing it as a matter of immense pride for the institution.
The Chairman further informed that NDMC has established a dedicated Engineering Wing to further modernize and strengthen school infrastructure across its educational institutions. The newly formed wing will conduct comprehensive surveys of all schools, identify infrastructural gaps, and ensure timely upgradation based on the specific requirements of each institution, in consultation with teachers and school authorities.
A total of seven Class X toppers and eighteen meritorious students of Class XII from the Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams were awarded a cash prize of Rs.10,000 each along with commemorative mementos. In addition, 30 students who brought laurels to NDMC at the State and National levels in various sports disciplines were also felicitated with Rs.10,000 each for their remarkable achievements. Notably, the awardees included eight especially abled students from Anchal School, reflecting NDMC’s strong commitment towards inclusive education, equal opportunities, and the encouragement of talent across all sections of society.
Speaking on the occasion, NDMC Council Member Shri Dinesh Pratap Singh congratulated the award-winning students and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence with confidence and self-belief. He stated that NDMC schools have consistently achieved new milestones in the field of education and expressed confidence that they would continue to raise the benchmark further, just as NDMC has earned national recognition in the field of cleanliness and civic management.
Ms. Kritika Chaudhary, Director (Education), NDMC, presented the annual achievement report of the Education Department and extended congratulations to students, principals, teachers, parents, and education officials for the outstanding academic performance. She emphasized that these excellent results reflect the department’s continuous efforts toward enhancing academic standards, integrating modern teaching methodologies, strengthening digital learning infrastructure, and ensuring comprehensive student welfare and skill development. She reiterated NDMC’s commitment to creating a future-ready education ecosystem that nurtures empowered, responsible, and well-rounded citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to society.
Adding vibrancy to the event, students of NDMC schools showcased their creativity and innovation through an Art Exhibition and Artificial Intelligence-based creative displays organized at the Convention Centre. The programme also featured Vedic mantra chanting and colourful cultural performances by students, which received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience.
The event concluded on a highly inspiring note, reaffirming NDMC’s unwavering commitment to educational excellence, innovation, and the holistic development of every student.
