NDMC organises Tuberculosis Awareness Activities in its area for a week under “Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

New Delhi: As part of the celebrations of 75th Year of Independence as “Azadi Ka Amrit  Mahotsav ”, on the theme of – “ Awareness Activities on Tuberculosis ” -, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chest and Polyclinic under the State Delhi TB Division organised various programmes during the week-long from 3rd to 9th January in New Delhi area .

In the celebration of Iconic Week of Health Ministry to observe Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Central TB Division directed the StateTB Division to conduct awareness activities on Tuberculosis in all districts from 3rd to 9th January 2022

In New Delhi District area, under the aegis of State TB Division and the guidance of state TB Officials, various activities were organized to create awareness about Tuberculosis.

A “Munnadi” activity regarding reducing stigma related to TB & TB HIV and about TB Arogya Sathi App was done through NDMC LED advertisement kiosks and large LED screens in Connaught Place, Khan Market and all over New Delhi District Area.

Two E-auto rickshaws with banners were deployed daily to the fifteen Primary Health Institutions (PHI) areas of New Delhi District with announcements through audio clips and distribution of pamphlets, brochures for information and awareness of the public in the market places and roadside areas and in JJ Colonies at Lok Kalyan Marg, Sai Baba Mandir, Kali Bari, Chanakyapuri Sanjay Camp etc.

Along with the above activities, a Quiz Competition was organized at NDMC Chest Clinic for TB Champions with 12 participants, who have recovered from TB and are now helping others in fighting the stigma and the disease.

Theme-based Posters were also placed at Night House Shelters, Chemist shops, Shivaji Stadium Bus Stand, Jan Aushadhi Centers of RML hospital & Lady Harding Medical College, New Delhi Police Station and at the MLA office (NDMC).
