NDMC with Union Ministry of Finance launched Srishti classroom under the Cleanliness Action Plan

New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), in association with the Directorate General of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Finance, has launched a classroom called “Srishti” in one of its schools, with the aim of connecting school children with nature along with education. School children will be able to know, learn and study nature and connect with it.
This “Srishti” – nature based classroom was inaugurated today by Ms. Neetu Lal Butalia, Director General, Human Resource Development Wing, Department of Revenue (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs) in the Union Ministry of Finance, Atal Adarsh ​​Bengali Girls’ School of Palika Parishad, Gol Markit, New Done in Delhi. Also present on the occasion were Additional Director General of Directorate General of Human Resource Development Mr. Shailesh Kumar and Director (Education) of New Delhi Municipal Council, Mr. DP Singh.

Classroom based on this ‘Srishti’ – Nature has been developed amidst green herbs of herbal and aromatic plants in which medicinal plants like basil, dill, rosemary, aloe, fennel, sage, lemongrass etc. have been planted. Along with these, an open eco-shed classroom equipped with learning equipment like table, chair, whiteboard and microphone is made here for the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Butalia said about the purpose of the project, that in keeping with learning and teaching about nature, this ‘nature’ – a nature based classroom
in school for school students under the Cleanliness Action Plan Has been developed.
He further said that it is important to expose the young mind to the riches of nature and encourage them to love, understand, appreciate and nurture nature, every element of which touches every human life.
Mr. DP Singh, Director (Education), New Delhi Municipal Council, hoped that this activity would not only enrich students’ knowledge, but it is anticipated that it would also have a positive impact on the study process.
Officials of Ministry of Finance, Education Department of Palika Parishad, school teachers and students were also present on the occasion of this inauguration.
