No defections in party will bring confidence motion in assembly to prove it: Kejriwal

New Delhi | Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said he will move a confidence motion in the Delhi Assembly to prove that no Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs have defected.

Kejriwal said BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’ has turned into mud after coming to Delhi.

He made this remark while addressing a special session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Referring to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kejriwal said that ‘the serial killer who killed all the governments has come to the city.

Kejriwal said on Friday, “The BJP has brought down many governments and now their attitude is towards Delhi. Governments in our country are serial killers. The pattern is the same.”

Delhi CM said, “They have toppled many governments till now, a serial killer has come in the city. This is the pattern of toppling the government everywhere. First send CBI-ED, raid, then scare. We haven’t done anything wrong. We are not afraid of going to jail.”

“His rate in Maharashtra was Rs 50 crore,” he said.

He claimed, “The BJP has so far bought 277 MLAs across the country. We have calculated that 277 MLAs have come to their party (BJP), now if they had given Rs 20 crore to each MLA, they would have given 5,500 crores.” Buy MLAs worth Rs. That’s why there is inflation because they are using all the money to buy MLAs at the cost of the common man.”

“All this money from GST (Goods and Services Tax) and inflation is being spent for two things – to buy MLAs and waive off loans of billionaire friends of the government,” Kejriwal alleged in his address.

A special session of the Delhi Assembly has been called amidst political allegations and counter-allegations between the AAP and the BJP over the Delhi government’s excise policy and the BJP’s alleged offer to destabilize the government. AAP alleges that BJP is luring party MLAs to topple the Kejriwal government.

CM Kejriwal said, “When the Maharashtra government was to be toppled, GST was imposed on milk, curd and buttermilk, when the debt of friends has to be waived, then petrol and diesel become expensive. There is news that the government of Jharkhand is going to fall. It is… in the next few days, GST will be imposed on someone or the other.”
