Opposition raises demand for CBI inquiry in the murder of journalist Sulabh Srivastava

Lucknow| The opposition is attacking the government and demanding a CBI inquiry in the death of TV channel journalist Sulabh Srivastava, who was very active in the campaign against liquor in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. In this regard, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, SP President Akhilesh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati and have demanded strict action against the culprits by getting the matter investigated.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi, demanding a CBI inquiry into the matter. He wrote, “The tragic incident that happened with journalist Sulabh Srivastava in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh shows that the rule of law has come to an end. It is necessary that there should be a CBI inquiry into the matter, financial assistance to the family and a decisive blow to the nexus of liquor mafia and administration.

BSP chief Mayawati also tweeted and said, “The terror of liquor mafia, etc. in UP is not hidden from anyone, whose black exploits were exposed in the latest incident. The brutal murder of a TV journalist of Pratapgarh district, very sad. . The government should ensure strict punishment to the culprits by conducting a fair and credible inquiry into the incident without any delay, the BSP demanded.”

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said, “Suspicious death of a TV journalist in an alleged accident in Pratapgarh is very sad. Heartfelt tribute. The BJP government should sit a high-level inquiry in this matter and tell the family and the public why security was not given to them even after the journalist expressed the possibility of murder at the hands of the liquor mafia.

It may be known that Sulabh Srivastava, a journalist of a TV channel in Pratapgarh, died under suspicious circumstances late on Sunday night. He was found injured on Sunday night at around 10 pm on Katra Road of Nagar Kotwali area. On the information of passers-by, the police brought him to the Government Medical College Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. About 40 years old was a resident of Sulabh Station Road sibling west. He has bruises on his face. Sulabh’s family members were suspecting murder. Family members say that Sulabh has been murdered systematically. Sulabh’s wife Renuka lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that she had thrown the body after killing her. On this, the SP, while registering a case of murder against unknown people, directed to impose the duty of policemen for their safety.

A case of murder has been registered on Monday. After a lot of ruckus on this matter of late Sunday night, Pratapgarh police has registered a case of murder. The journalist had also sent a letter to ADG Prayagraj Zone, apprehension of an attack on him. After the post-mortem report came, the police registered a case of murder.
