New Delhi, August 20 On the 81st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India and Bharat Ratna awardee Rajiv Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi remembered his father and paid tribute to him. He said that fulfilling his father’s dream is the goal of his life.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi posted on the social media platform ‘X’. In the post, he wrote, “An India where every citizen gets respect, where there is goodwill, the country stands strong with democracy and constitution. Papa, fulfilling this dream of yours is my life goal.”
Delhi Congress State President Devendra Yadav said on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, “Rajiv Gandhi has done such work for the country that no one else can do. At a time when the Constitution and democracy are getting weak, the former PM gives us strength so that we can protect the country and take the country forward.”
Congress leader Sachin Pilot wrote on ‘X’, “I salute ‘Bharat Ratna’ Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary. During his tenure as Prime Minister, he gave the country a modern vision through his farsighted thinking and progressive ideas and connected India with the thinking of the 21st century. Realizing his deep faith in democracy and the spirit of empowerment, he strengthened Panchayati Raj and made the youth an active participant in nation building. He opened new paths of progress for the coming generations and the indelible mark of his thoughts and actions is clearly visible even in today’s India. His thoughts and contributions will always remain alive in the hearts of the country.”
Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath wrote in X post, “Heartfelt salute to the architect of technological India, father of communication revolution, former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary. He was such a young Prime Minister who gave opportunities of education, communication and leadership to the talents of rural India. The revolution of computers and telecommunications, the constitutional system of Panchayati Raj and Navodaya Vidyalaya are examples of this. I am fortunate that I got the opportunity to work with him.”
