Jammu | Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who came to Jammu and Kashmir for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370, on Sunday rained development plans on the people here. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for development projects worth more than 20 thousand crore rupees. He said here at Palli village in Samba district that he had reached there with the message of development. Projects worth 20 thousand crore rupees were launched today to give impetus to development projects in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister launched the Amrit Sarovar Mission, under which 75 reservoirs in every district will be rehabilitated or developed. He sent the prize money of the National Panchayat Award to the bank accounts of the winning Panchayats.
He laid the foundation stone of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, inaugurated 500 KW capacity solar power plant at Palli village and also inaugurated 108 Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the Union Territory.
He also laid the foundation stone of the 850 MW hydroelectric project and 540 MW Kor hydroelectric project on the Chenab river in the Kishtwar district.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the 8.45 km long Banihal Qazigund tunnel route. The road has been constructed at a cost of Rs 3,100 crore. This will reduce the distance between Banihal and Qazigund by 16 kms and will save about one and a half hours of travel time.
Along with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Prime Minister also went to Palli village to see the photo gallery of INTACH.
