PM Modi said in Tokyo – Common goal of a free and inclusive Indo-Pacific Quad

New Delhi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that an independent and inclusive Indo-Pacific region is being promoted through the Quad. This is a common goal of all of us. Quad has made a significant place on the world stage in a very short span of time. At the Quad Summit in Tokyo, the Prime Minister said that the Quad is promoting a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.

Noting that the Quad has gained world fame in a short span of time, PM Modi said that despite the adverse situation created by COVID-19, there is a need for vaccine delivery, climate action, resilience in the supply chain, disaster response, economic cooperation and other areas. for enhanced coordination. This has brought peace, prosperity and stability to the Indo-Pacific region.

“The Quad is pursuing a constructive agenda for the Indo-Pacific region,” he said.

Congratulating the newly elected Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, Modi said, “I congratulate PM Albanese. Your presence among us 24 hours after taking oath reflects the strength of the Quad friendship and your commitment to it.”

He also thanked Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida for the warm welcome and said that it is a great pleasure to be here with friends.

PM Modi arrived in Tokyo on Monday morning on a two-day visit at the invitation of the Japanese Prime Minister to attend the Quad Summit.

He is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Kishida on Tuesday.
