New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the country’s largest mobility expo ‘Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025’ at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on Friday.
The expo will be held from January 17 to 22 at three different locations, Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in Delhi and India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida, in which more than nine shows, more than 20 conferences will be organized.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that apart from this, state sessions will also be organized in the expo to showcase policies and initiatives in the mobility sector, so that cooperation between the industry and the states can also be increased.
This year the event will have a special emphasis on global importance, in which exhibitors and visitors from all over the world will participate.
This expo is an industry-led and government-backed initiative, which is being coordinated by the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC) in collaboration with various industry bodies and partner organizations.
According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the wholesale sales of India’s automobile industry grew 11.6 percent year-on-year to 25 million units in 2024.
With these figures, India was the third largest car market in the world last year.
The two-wheeler segment has led the growth in 2024. The two-wheeler segment has grown by 14.5 percent last year as compared to 2023 and 19.5 million units have been sold.
Apart from this, the passenger vehicles and three-wheeler segments have also recorded the highest ever sales last year.
The passenger vehicles segment grew by 4.2 percent in 2024 as compared to the previous year and sales stood at around 43 lakh units. Three-wheelers grew by 6.8 percent in 2024 as compared to the previous year and sales stood at 7.3 lakh units.
