New Delhi, Feb 19 Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday congratulated Shalimar Bagh MLA Rekha Gupta on being elected the next Chief Minister of Delhi. She will take the oath of office and secrecy at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday.
Rekha Gupta will be the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi. Earlier, Sheila Dixit, Sushma Swaraj and Atishi have held this post. In the BJP Legislature Party meeting on Wednesday evening, Satish Upadhyay and Vijendra Gupta proposed the name of Rekha Gupta, which got the approval of all the MLAs.
Rajnath Singh wrote on social media platform X, “Many congratulations and best wishes to Rekha Gupta on being elected the leader of the BJP Legislature Party in Delhi. I firmly believe that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with his efforts, Delhi will become the developed capital of developed India.”
Nitin Gadkari wrote on X, “Hearty congratulations to Rekha Gupta on her selection as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party and Chief Minister in Delhi. I am confident that Delhi will progress under the leadership of Rekha Gupta and will be a matter of pride for the country.”
Yogi Adityanath wrote in a post on X, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to Rekha Gupta on being elected the leader of the BJP Legislature Party.”
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated Rekha Gupta on being elected the leader of the BJP Legislature Party. He wrote on X, “I have full faith that under the guidance of the respected Prime Minister, your leadership will take the progress of Delhi to new heights and ensure the all-encompassing and all-round development of Delhi.”
It is worth noting that the swearing-in ceremony for the post of Chief Minister will be held at Ramlila Maidan on February 20 in Delhi. Rekha Gupta will take oath as Chief Minister.
