New Delhi: The second Canadian flight carrying essential medical supplies to assist India in its fight against COVID landed in New Delhi on Thursday, May 13, 2021. The Canadian CC-150 Polaris aircraft deployed by Canadian Armed Forces delivered 300 ventilators. In all, Canada has flown in 350 ventilators and 25,000 doses of Remdesivir to India. This is in addition to the $10 million provided to the Canadian Red Cross to support the Indian Red Cross Society’s procurement of critical medical supplies in India as well as a grant to UNICEF to buy 1,450 oxygen concentrators.
His Excellency Nadir Patel, High Commissioner for Canada to India commented, “the second shipment of medical supplies from Canada safely arrived today and will support the heroic efforts of India’s frontline workers who are working tirelessly to save lives. We stand in solidarity with India as it combats #COVID19.
