New Delhi:On 04.05.2026 at 6 PM, a PCR call regarding snatching was received at PS Wazirabad. The local police reached the spot i.e. Near Old Yamuna Bridge, Shiv Mandir Wazirabad where complainant Ayush Mishra reported that he works with a Chartered Accountant Roshan at Kaushik Enclave, Burari, Delhi. In the afternoon of 04.05.26, he was going to Rajendra Place, Delhi on a motorcycle to deliver an amount of Rs. 6.5 lacs which was kept in a black colour bag. While he reached near Shiv Mandir, Wazirabad, two boys riding on a motorcycle snatched his bag containing cash and fled away. Subsequently, a case FIR No. 185/26 dated 04.05.2026 u/s 304(2)/3(5) BNS was registered at PS Wazirabad and investigation was taken up accordingly.
TEAM AND INVESTIGATION:
A dedicated team comprising HC Manoj Bhati, HC Sanjeev, Ct. Sumit, Ct. Neeraj and Ct. Gaurav was constituted under the supervision of Inspr. Prashant Anand, SHO/PS Wazirabad and guidance of Shri Shashikant Gaur, ACP/Sub Division Burari to nab the accused persons and recover the cash.
During investigation, the team thoroughly analyzed the CCTV footage of the place of incident and adjoining routes. In one of the CCTV footages, complainant Ayush Mishra was seen smiling while the so-called snatchers were following him carrying the same black bag which created suspicion. During investigation, it was also revealed that the incident took place at about 3:30 PM while the complainant called the police at 6 PM. On questioning about this gap, he could not give any satisfactory reply. Besides, he also kept changing his statements during interrogation. On sustained interrogation, he broke down and admitted that he along with two accomplices Ashu and Akash, both residents of Kaushik Enclave, Burari, Delhi had committed the above crime. At his instance, cash Rs. 2.5 lacs was recovered. Further, at his instance, both of his accomplices Ashu and Akash were also apprehended. Cash Rs. 2 lacs was recovered from the shop of Ashu and cash Rs. 2 lacs was recovered from the house of Akash. All the three accused persons have been arrested and the motorcycles used for carrying cash and committing crime have been recovered.
INTERROGATION:
On sustained interrogation, accused Ayush Mishra disclosed that he hails from Azamgarh, UP. Due to financial needs, he shifted to Delhi about 4-5 months before and was residing in the house of his aunt (Bua) in Kaushik Enclave, Burari. About 2 months before, he started working with a Chartered Accountant in his neighbourhood. Meanwhile, he came in contact with Ashu and Akash and they all used to sit in the shop of Ashu in the evening hours and consumed alcohol together. He used to deliver the cash amount of his employer at different places. About 4-5 days before the incident, he along with his accomplices Ashu and Akash made a plan to deceive the money of his employer.
As per plan, Ashu provided a motorcycle to Ayush Mishra for carrying the cash and after receiving information about delivery of cash amount, Ashu and Akash followed him on another motorcycle (owned by father of Akash) and took away the bag containing cash from Ayush Mishra and moved towards Khajoori before taking a U-turn in order to mislead the police. Later, they divided the stolen amount among them. Subsequently, Sections 203/316(4)/ 317(2)/240/217 BNS were added in the case.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:
1. Ayush Mishra aged 20 years originally hails from Azamgarh, UP. About 4-5 months before, he shifted to Delhi and was residing in the house of his aunt in Kaushik Enclave, Burari, Delhi. He has studied upto 12th standard and addicted to alcohol. He is the mastermind of this conspiracy.
2. Ashu aged 28 years r/o Kaushik Enclave, Burari, Delhi is a school dropout and addicted to alcohol. He runs a motorcycle repair shop in Kaushik Enclave for the last 10 years.
3. Akash aged 33 years r/o Gali No. 21, Kaushik Enclave, Burari, Delhi is a school dropout and addicted to alcohol. He works as a delivery boy on Porter Service for the last 3-4 years. He was previously involved in a robbery case of PS Maurice Nagar, Delhi.
RECOVERY:
1. Cash Rs. 6.5 lacs.
2. One Motorcycle used in the crime
3. One motorcycle used for carrying cash was also seized.
