An auto passenger mobile snatching case, solved by the team of pp inderlok, ps sarai rohilla, with the arrest of two notorious snatchers cum robbers cum auto-lifters.

New Delhi: On 10.02.2024, a PCR call vide GD No. XX-A, regarding snatching of a mobile phone was received in PS Sarai Rohilla. The complainant, Heerain Sharma, r/o U-Block Pitampura, Delhi, age 22 years, (who is pursuing study at Delhi University), reported in his complaint that on 10.02.2024, he hired an Auto/TSR from Gole Market, New Delhi and was on the way towards his house. At around 08:25 PM, when he reached Maharaja Nahar Singh Marg, near Tapakna Pul, Najafgarh drain, Inderlok, Delhi and he was engaged in talking with someone over his mobile phone. Meanwhile, two young boys riding on a Scooty bearing registration number DL7516 came near the Auto/TSR in which the complainant was travelling, in the meantime, the pillion rider of the Scooty, instantly snatched his Apple I-Phone-15 Pro Max mobile phone from his hand and both of them fled away towards Wazirpur J.J. Colony.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 139/24 dated 10.02.2024 u/s 356/379/34 IPC was registered at PS Sarai Rohilla and the investigation has been taken up.

TEAM, INVESTIGATION & OPERATION: 

In view of seriousness of the case and in order to arrest accused persons as well as to recover the case property, a dedicated police team led by SI Manoj Kumar Tomar, (In-charge PP Inderlok), comprising HC Prem Singh, W/HC Lalita, Ct Manroop, Ct Manjeet, Ct Gagan, Ct Umesh and Ct Vikas was formed, under the close supervision of Inspr. Vikas Rana, SHO/PS Sarai Rohilla and guidance of Shri Prashant  Choudhary, ACP/Sub-Division, Sarai Rohilla, Delhi.

Further, with a lot of planning, intensive operation was carried out at various places in Delhi by the team and technical surveillance was mounted. Technical and human intelligence were put into action to nab the accused persons. Various CCTV cameras leading to the place of occurrence were scanned and it revealed that two accused persons committed the offence of the present case by using a Scooty, make TVS NTORQ and its front number plate was half broken. The rear number plate was found as DL1SAE7516as its last four figures had already been noted by the victim at the time of the offence. Consequently, photographs of both accused persons were extracted from the CCTV footages. With continuous and tireless efforts of the team, both accused persons were zeroed in K-Block, JJ Colony, Wazirpur, Delhi. But the houses of both accused persons were not traced; hence, both were at large.

Moreover, the Scooty No. DL1SAE7516 was checked and verified through police records, it was found to be a TVS NTORQ Scooty. On 12.02.2024, sincere efforts and hard work of the team brought fruitful results, as secret information was received by the team that one of the accused, namely AnshRana @ Dinesh, was present at Pacific Mall, Netaji Subhash Place, Delhi. If a raid is conducted well in time, he might be apprehended. Immediately, without wasting a moment, the dedicated police team rushed to the place of information and a raid was mounted. Ultimately, the accused identified as AnshRana @ Dinesh, age 19 years was apprehended from Pacific Mall, Netaji Subhash Place, Delhi and he was arrested in the present case of snatching, as in this case the CCTV footage clips are on file against him as evidence.

INTERROGATION:

During the course of interrogation, the accused person, Ansh Rana @ Dinesh, age 19 years disclosed that he along-with his co-accused Sunny Pandit, had committed the offence of snatching an Apple I-Phone-15 Pro Max mobile phone from the victim, while he was travelling on an Auto/TSR near Tapakna Pul, Ganda Nala, Inderlok, during the late evening hours of 10.02.2024. Further, the accused person disclosed that just after the offence of present robbery, they both sold the robbed Apple I-Phone of the victim to a person, namely Bebo, r/o XXX, Delhi for Rs. 18,000/- and they both spent the earned amount on their fun.

Subsequently, at the instance of the arrested accused person, his co-accused identified as Sunny Sharma @ Sunny Pandit, age 26 years was also apprehended from K-Block, J.J. Colony, Wazirpur, Delhi, on the same day and he was arrested in the present case of snatching. The Scooty, make TVS NTORQ, which was used in the commission of crime, was recovered at his instance, which was found parked near Public Toilet K-Block, Shastri Nagar. Subsequently, on checking this Scooty, one digit of the registration number of the same Scooty was modified or altered and it was found as DL1SAE7516, while its original number was found as DL1SAE7515. The same Scooty was found to be stolen vide e-FIR No. 002059/24 dated 27.01.2024 u/s379 IPC, PS DBG Road, Delhi. Accordingly, Section 120-B IPC has also been added in the present case of snatching.

Both the accused persons were interrogated at length and they also disclosed their involvements in the commission of various offences of Snatching, Theft and Motor Vehicle Theft in different parts of Delhi. Consequently, two Scooties, stolen from the areas of PS Keshavpuram, Delhi were recovered at the instance of accused Sunny Pandit. Moreover, one motorcycle, make Honda Livo and one Scooty, make TVS Jupiter, stolen from the area of PS Sarai Rohilla were recovered on the instance of accused Ansh Rana @ Dinesh, which were all found parked by the accused persons nearby a Public Toilet, K-Block, Shastri Nagar, Delhi.

Accordingly, as per the recovery of five stolen two-wheelers as well as the confessions of both arrested persons, total eight (8) cases of Snatching and Motor Vehicle Theft (MVT) registered in Police Stations Sarai Rohilla, DBG Road and Keshavpuram, Delhi have been worked out with their arrest.

Both the accused persons are school dropouts and also drug addicts, hence, they are involved in committing criminal activities to fund their desires for the lust of drugs and to live a lavish lifestyle by selling the snatched and robbed articles to the needy at cheap and best prices.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:

1. Sunny Sharma @ Sunny Pandit, R/o Shastri Nagar, Delhi, age 26 years. (Previously he was found involved in seven (7) criminal cases of Snatching and Theft registered in Police Stations Sarai Rohilla, Burari, Adarsh Nagar and Keshavpuram, Delhi).

2. AnshRana @ Dinesh, R/o JJ Colony, Wazirpur, Delhi, age 19 years. (Previously he was involved in three cases of Snatching registered in Police Stations Rajauri Garden, Punjabi Bagh and Bharat Nagar, Delhi).

WORKED OUT CASES: 

As per the disclosures of both accused persons as well as recovery of five stolen two wheelers, following eight (8) cases of Snatching and Motor Vehicle Theft registered in Police Stations, Sarai Rohilla, DBG Road and Keshavpuram, Delhi have been worked out with their arrest.

4. Case e-FIR No. 008519/2023 dated 20.03.2023 u/s 379 IPC, PS KeshavPuram, Delhi.

5. Case e-FIR No. 032800/2023 dated 22.10.2023 u/s 379 IPC, PS Sarai Rohilla, Delhi.

6. Case e-FIR No. 009721/2023 dated 03.04.2023 u/s 379 IPC, PS Sarai Rohilla, Delhi.

7. Case e-FIR No. 80012979/2024 dated 07.02.2024 u/s 356/379/34 IPC, PS Sarai Rohilla.

8. Case e-FIR No. 80001263/24 dated 04.01.2024 u/s 356/379/34 IPC, PS Sarai Rohilla, Delhi.

RECOVERY:

Following five stolen two-wheelers (i.e. 04 Scooties and 01 Motorcycle) have been recovered at the instances of both accused persons).

1. Scooty, make TVS NTORQ, used in commission of crime, which was found stolen from the area of PS DBG Road, Central District.

2. Scooty, make Hero, stolen from the area of PS Keshavpuram, Delhi.

3. Scooty, make Honda Activa, stolen from the area of PS Keshavpuram, Delhi.

4. Scooty, make TVS Jupiter, stolen from the area of PS Sarai Rohilla.

5. Motorcycle, make Honda Livo, stolen from the area of PS Sarai Rohilla.
