New Delhi | A Sikkim Police jawan posted in the national capital on Monday shot dead his senior and two associates. A senior official of the Delhi Police has given this information.
The accused has been identified as Lance Naik Prabin Rai, who belonged to the Indian Reserve Battalion of Sikkim Police, while the deceased have been identified as Commander Pinto Namgyal Bhutia and constables Dhanhang Subba and Inder Lal Chhetri.
The incident happened around 3 pm. When the four were inside their barracks at Hyderpur Water Treatment Plant.
Rohini Deputy Commissioner of Police Pranav Tayal told IANS: “All the policemen were posted at Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant in Rohini. The accused Lance Naik shot his three accomplices, two of whom died on the spot.”
Subba was seriously injured in the incident and was taken to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini where doctors declared him brought dead.
The DCP said Rai surrendered and was later arrested.
