New Delhi, Oct 10 Stones were thrown at a bus carrying detained protesters in New Delhi’s Jhandewalan area on Saturday. Police continued detaining people arriving for a proposed protest by the CJP near Jantar Mantar.
According to officials, the incident occurred when policemen were transporting some detained protesters from the Jhandewalan area in a bus. Stones were thrown at the bus, prompting police action.
Some protesters allegedly tried to escape from police custody and attempted to damage the bus. However, police re-arrested them and later sent them to their designated location.

Meanwhile, police detained over 1,000 protesters in the capital on Saturday. These protesters were reportedly on their way to participate in a protest called by the Cockroach Janata Party against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.
Security has been heightened in the National Capital Region (NCR) in view of the proposed protest. Authorities have made additional arrangements to maintain law and order and prevent protesters from reaching the designated site at Jantar Mantar.
Police said on Friday that the permission for the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest has been revoked due to the organizers’ failure to comply with legal instructions and their commitments made during the previous protest.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das, and Ashutosh Ranka were detained upon arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) ahead of the protest at Jantar Mantar.
