New Delhi | The bitter cold in the capital Delhi on Wednesday morning has also failed to dampen the spirits of the people who came to watch the Republic Day parade at the majestic Rajpath here.
People started arriving at Rajpath from 5.30 am, while the parade started around 10.30 am.
However, this year the crowd is less than last year because the cases of corona are increasing continuously due to the new variant of corona in the country, Omicron. This year also India is celebrating Republic Day lightly.
Visitors occupy almost every seat on the Rajpath. It may also be mentioned that the seating arrangement has been done following the corona-inspired protocol of maintaining distance.
The security personnel is also checking the corona vaccination certificate at the entrance of the Rajpath area.
People standing in queues could be heard chanting and singing patriotic songs and slogans.
The slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ in the midst of the cold weather in the morning instilled patriotism in the veins of the people.
