New Delhi:Vice Chairman New Delhi Municipal Council, Shri Satish Upadhyay flag off participating teams / players in 36th National Games will be held in Gujarat by Delhi Olympic Association at a programme organized at NDMC Convention Centre, Jai Singh Road New Delhi.
Shri B S Bhalla, Chairman- NDMC inaugurated the programme and conveyed his best wishes to all the participants, and expressed hope that the players of Delhi will come by winning more and more trophies in these games.
Shri Upadhyay informed that 36th National Games 2022 is being organized in Gujarat in the month of September-October 2022 and players from the Delhi team will participate in these games. He informed that 500 sportspersons and 100 officials will participate in these prestigious games.
After flagging off the players, Shri Upadhyay interacted with the players and gave his best wishes and said that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji launched the initiative “Khelo India – A Mission to Help Young Talents” – Schemes have been started to encourage sports in the country. He further said that games not only make a person healthy, strong, stress-free but sports connect people and when a person participates in team sports, we learn more about each other. On this occasion, Shri Upadhyay also distributed track-suits to the players.
On this occasion, Shri Upadhyay said that the whole country is celebrating 75 years of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, so it is more important for us to take sports forward in our own countries because due to the best sportspersons India has their name in other countries.
He said that it is very important for the players to have a target like Arjun of Mahabharata. He said that one goal after another like National Games, then Olympics, then Asian Games, then Commonwealth Games, World National Games etc. should be formulated in a player’s life.
He said that I personally have a great affinity for sports and I have always stood up for the players in any situation and will always be. He said that I would also recommend to the Chairman – NDMC that the players should be given a chance to play and practice in the World Class Stadiums in the NDMC area.
He said that the players from Delhi represent Delhi and participate in the National Games and some of them also have the dream and passion to win these games.
He further said that sports and physical education are essential components of human development, good health and the spirit of companionship and friendly competition. This has a positive effect on the overall development of personality. Talent in sports enhances the individual’s sense of achievement, national pride and patriotism.
He further informed that the games like Archery, KhoKho, Mallakhamb, Rugby, Football, Kabbadi, Yogasan, Rowing, Canoeing, Skating, Tennis, Golf, Shooting, Lawn Ball, Cycling, Weightlifting, Judo, Fencing, Boxing, Wrestling, Triathlon, Squash, Athletics, Soft Ball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Gymnastics, Handball, Aquatics, Hockey, Basketball etc. will be played in these Games.
Besides, Shri Dharam Paul Singla, Chairman – TRDP Group, Shri Deepak Mishra (Retd. IPS), Chief Patron, Shri K.Mani Dhoundiyal, Patron, Shri Khuldeep Vats, President, Shri Dipak Singh, Vice President, Shri Rakesh Gupta, General Secretary, Shri Saroj Sharma, Treasurer, Shri Sanjeev Sharma, Co-ordinator, Shri Rajkumar, Chef De-Mission, Shri Paramjeet Singh, Dy.Chef De-Misson, Shri Sanjay Kr.Ambasta, Deputy Chef-De Mission, Shri Mukesh Vats, Deputy Chef De Mission and large number of players and their coaches were present and grace this occasion.
