Lakhimpur Kheri, April 26 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condemned the cowardly terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam and expressed condolences and tribute on behalf of the people of UP.
He said that there is no place for terrorism and anarchy in a civilized society. The Government of India’s model of service, security and good governance is based on development, poor welfare and security of all. Under the zero tolerance policy, New India is ready to ‘respond in the language it understands’ to those who breach security. New India does not tease anyone, but will not spare anyone who teases under the leadership of PM Modi. It was under the zero tolerance policy that UP was made free of mafia, anarchy and riots and the country was brought to the forefront as a leading economy.
CM Yogi, while attacking SP, said that when the anti-development, women, youth, farmer people got the opportunity to rule, they forced farmers to commit suicide, youth to migrate and by giving protection to professional criminals, they used to breach the security of daughters, sisters and traders. Today the government is working strongly for the safety of all. Congress and SP are dividing the society in the name of caste. They insult Chhatrapati Shivaji, Rana Sanga and glorify cruel Aurangzeb-Babur.
On Saturday in Lakhimpur Kheri, the Chief Minister provided loans, grants, housing and tractor keys etc. to the beneficiaries of various schemes. Farmers of Bijwa and Palia blocks came on the stage and expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for the positive initiative of flood control. Describing Uttar Pradesh as a state of modern infrastructure, the Chief Minister said that whether it is flood or disease, the new Uttar Pradesh of new India has moved ahead well to solve it.
Addressing the program, he said that last year, I saw people of Palia and Nighasan area struggling with floods, then I had said that don’t worry, we will find a permanent solution to this. With the cooperation of public representatives, Jal Shakti Department is going to channelize the Sharda river for a permanent solution to the flood. This will save the farmer’s field as well as the settlement from floods. The work of making a seven kilometer long channel is going on. It was supposed to come in the first week of April, but I said to start the work first. Now this work is progressing rapidly.
He said that the money spent by the government is not the money of the Chief Minister or Minister, but it is the tax money of the public. It should be used properly. Earlier, a proposal had come to build an embankment with 180 crores. This would also take away the land of the farmers. I asked that if three and a quarter lakh cusecs of water will come in the Sharda river, then how will the earthen embankment be able to stop it. This is not the solution to the problem, channelize the river, get a dredger and give the river a way to flow together, then the problem of flood will be solved.
The Chief Minister said that if the work of 180 crores can be done in just 22 crores, then complete this work by June 10. When the monsoon arrives, the water will not go towards Palia, Nighasan or Lakhimpur Kheri, but will move forward by joining Saryu ji. If it is channelized, the water will not scatter, it will move forward by deciding its own path, due to which the farmer will also be safe and his farming, house, crop, livestock will also be safe. There will be no loss of life and wealth due to floods. Lakhimpur is achieving new heights of development. Now a medical college has also been built here, whereas a few years ago this was a dream. The possibility of tourism will also increase through Dudhwa National Park. Money has also been given to have an airport in Lakhimpur Kheri. We will also inspect that the airport should be saved from Suheli river and other floods.
The Chief Minister said that the farmers, the youth and half of the population are the top priority of the double engine government. The government started the work by waiving the farmers’ loans. Every farmer is being given the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi. We had said from the very first day that we will not allow anyone to exploit the farmers. Before 2017, the sugarcane price of farmers for 10-10 years was pending, today no one will have to pay one year old. Out of 122, 105 sugar mills are making payments within a week. We are finding a solution to the delay in the remaining 17 mills. No one’s money will be lost, because the government has control over the sugar mill. Now we have opened an escrow account, this will be a joint account. Whatever sugar is sold, its money will first go to the farmer, then to the sugar mill owner. If anyone misbehaves even after this, then the sugar mill will be auctioned and the money will be given to the farmers first.
