Mumbai: TV director Rohit Raj Goyal showered praise on his wife, actress Deepika Singh. He shared that Deepika not only embraced him but also took his entire family under her wing and cared for them. He spoke about this on the reality show ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga’. While discussing his family and Deepika on the show, Rohit became emotional.
He revealed that there was a time when people used to say that his family’s children would never get married and would eventually be forced to beg for a living. However, Deepika’s arrival changed people’s perceptions.
On the show, Rohit mentioned that Deepika chose to marry him while she was at the peak of her career. At the time, she was a popular television actress, yet she chose a partner who lived in a joint family.
Rohit said, “As she mentioned, I am her ‘ashiq’ (lover/devoted partner). But one doesn’t just become such a partner easily. At the peak of her career, Deepika decided to marry—and that too, someone living in a joint family. She embraced my entire family—my mother, father, brother, and sister-in-law.”
Rohit then spoke about the bond between his father and Deepika. He shared, “In the same way we speak of ‘special children,’ my father is one. Accepting him, talking to him, and taking care of him—Deepika does all of this.”
Recalling the past remarks people made about his family, Rohit said, “When people saw my father, they would say, ‘His children will never get married; who knows where they’ll end up begging.’ But on the day of our wedding, so many people came to witness it. All of this happened solely because of Deepika.”
Deepika also responded to these heartfelt words from Rohit. She said, “I never imagined that this would come to light, but Rohit spoke from the heart. I had no idea he was going to say all this, so I was left speechless. The respect of his family means a great deal to me. I am proud of him for achieving everything through his hard work and patience. My mother-in-law’s prayers and blessings have also played a significant role in this.”
The love story of Rohit and Deepika began on the sets of the TV show ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’. In this show, Deepika played the popular character Sandhya Rathi, while Rohit served as the director. Their professional association gradually evolved into a personal relationship, and the couple tied the knot in Mumbai on May 2, 2014.
Later, in May 2017, the couple welcomed their son, Soham.
