young minds will steer India’s future growth with Science & Technology and Innovation: Dr Jitendra Singh 

New Delhi: Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Govt. of India – Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the New Delhi Municipal Council’s Schools Annual Science Fair at NDCC Convention Center, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi today.

After inaugurating the Science Fair, Union Science and Technology Minister, Shri Jitendra Singh said that  young minds will steer India’s future growth with Science & Technology and Innovation. India’s scientific prowess is going to have a major role in the making of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat. “Our greatest asset is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who not only has a natural predilection for science but is also forthcoming in supporting and promoting S&T based initiatives and projects”:  added Dr Jitendra Singh.

 On the occasion, Chairperson NDMC Shri Amit Yadav, Vice-Chairperson Shri Satish Upadhyay , Member, NDMC Smt. Vishakha Shailani , other Senior Officers , Teachers and Parents were also present.

 New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is organizing a two days NDMC’s Schools Annual Science Fair on Tuesday, 05th to 6th December, 2023 at 08:30 am to 03.00 pm at NDCC Convention Center, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi to showcasing scientific creativities in the forms of models & Charts by its school’s blooming scientist.

The theme of the Science Fair is “Technology and Toys”. Apart from NDMC Schools, some public schools including St. Columbus, St. Thomas, Modern School, Sardar Patel etc., National Science Center, Science Magazine-Science Reporter and Avishkar were amongst those participating in the Science Fair. Science Games, quiz, debate, health mela, science toys etc. are also attractions of Science Fair.

More than 60 exhibits displayed in the Science Fair, showcasing the scientific temperament, aptitude and innovative minds of the future scientists.  Science/Mathematics inventive exhibits, displays from Palika Tinkering Lab /Atal Tinkering Lab, and interactive workshops for students on “Fun with Science,” “Science Behind Miracles,” and exploring the wonders of science with the National Science Centre are also in the science fair.

The fair will also feature a display of science magazines and a “Do It Yourself” (DIY) Zone. One of the standout features of the science fair is the “Live Science Talk” with prominent scientists and experts in the field.

The overarching goal of the exhibition is to educate children on “Aatm Nirbhar Bharat” and contribute to the education of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Notably, this event marks the resumption of the exhibition after a hiatus of three years due to the pandemic. The Science Fairs also highlighted the Digital India Mission and the objectives outlined in the National Education Policy.

The event is free of cost and open to students from all schools, parents, guardians, educators, school administrators, and science enthusiasts. NDMC urges all walks of life to come together and witness the brilliance of young scientists, celebrating their commitment to a sustainable future. The event promises to be a unique opportunity for learning and engagement.
