New Delhi| Union Home Minister Amit Shah was present in the Foundation Day program of Delhi Police on Thursday. In his address on this occasion, he said that from 2014 to 2023 there has been a big change in terms of internal security and law and order. He told that there has been a decrease in terrorist incidents and left-wing extremism in Kashmir.
Amir Shah said that there has been a decrease in terrorist incidents in Kashmir. Earlier there used to be stone pelting, processions and bandh calls, but now everything has changed. Now people also go there for travel and tourism. He said that left-wing extremism was also a big challenge for the government. It was said that a red corridor has been made from Kathmandu to Tirupati.
Shah said that the lowest figures of leftist violence have come in 2022. Now it has been reduced to 46 police stations. Amit Shah told that our security forces have done the work of making the leftist extremism affected border and Budha Pahad of Bihar and Jharkhand Naxal-free. Amit Shah congratulated all the security forces and the state police for this.
Similarly, the situation in the North East has changed so much now. There too peace has been established. Earlier we had said in our manifesto that AFSPA will not be removed. But due to the efforts of the Government of India and the security forces, AFSPA has been removed from 60 percent of the North East. It was removed because peace has been restored there. On the other hand, in the North East, more than 8 thousand youths decided to give up arms and join the mainstream. Agreement has also been made with many militant organizations and implemented.
Amit Shah further said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has settled the border disputes of many states and established peace there. The operation launched by Delhi Police, Rajasthan Police, Punjab Police and NIA against the inter-state gangs in North India has been a big success.
In the end, Amit Shah said that the Delhi Police has played an important role in the drug-free campaign. It is the responsibility of all of us to make the country and the young generation of Delhi drug free. He said that before going to the 2024 elections, we will take the housing satisfaction rate of Delhi Police and paramilitary forces above 60 percent.
