KABUL | At least 30 policemen were killed and more than 24 injured in a suicide car bomb blast at a military camp in Afghanistan’s Ghazni province on Sunday. This information was given by the top officials. Confirming the casualties and injured in the attack, Ghazni civil hospital director Baz Mohammad Hemat told Xinhua news agency that the death toll may increase, as some of the injured are in critical condition.
A security official told Xinhua that the blast was carried out by a suicide bomber, where the attacker detonated an explosive-laden vehicle at an army camp near Ghazni city.
He said, “The military personnel killed and injured in this attack are part of a battalion of the Afghan National Army (ANA). The facility used to belong to police forces in the past, but has now been converted into a battalion of the ANA and all the victims Were ANA soldiers. ”
Earlier reports said that the people killed and injured were police personnel.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, but local authorities have blamed Taliban militants for the attack.
