Srinagar | A top commander of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is also among the three terrorists killed in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. “One more unidentified terrorist killed (total 03). Incriminating material including arms and ammunition recovered. Search is on,” J&K Police said in a tweet.
Police identified the LeT terrorist as Ejaz alias Abu Huraira and said that he hails from Pakistan. Ejaz was killed along with two local terrorists during the encounter.
A joint team of police and army cordoned off the area and launched a search operation based on specific input about the presence of terrorists, following which the encounter started early on Wednesday.
As soon as the security forces reached the place where the terrorists were hiding, they opened fire on the security forces, after which the encounter started.
