“We all have seen Sidhu hugging Imran Khan and General Bajwa and singing for the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor while our soldiers were being killed on the borders every day
, ” he said. “Ex-cricketer Sidhu attended Imran’s swearing-in even though he didn’t explicitly tell him to me.”
Amarinder Singh dismissed the Congress leadership’s claim that he had lost the confidence of the MLAs, saying “It is a lame excuse. Just a week ago, I sent a list of 63 MLAs to Sonia Gandhi who would support me.” were.”
He said that MLAs usually give only those answers which they feel Delhi wants. The same happened in the CLP meeting also.
It is not possible to please all the MLAs under any circumstances, he said.
Pointing to the sweeping victory by the Congress under his leadership since 2017, Amarinder Singh said he failed to understand the party’s decision to replace him.
“People of Punjab are clearly happy with my government. Till three-four months ago, the tide was completely in favor of Congress in Punjab, but ‘they cut their nose to cut their face’,” he said.
Expressing grief and shock at the way he was humiliated for stepping down, Amarinder Singh said, “Even today, I was not informed about the CLP meeting despite being the leader. The way in the night Everyone was called and informed about the meeting, it was clear that they wanted to remove me from the chief minister’s post.”
He said he felt sad and humiliated that his contribution to the state was not recognized, and was misunderstood, despite doing his best for it, including sacrilege and drug issues.
“The Punjab government means India’s security and if Sidhu is made the face of Congress for the chief minister’s post, I will fight him at every step,” he said.
Amarinder Singh has been asked by the Governor to continue as Chief Minister till an alternative arrangement is made. He said in media interviews that Sidhu can never be a good leader for Punjab.
“A man who cannot handle a ministry, how can he handle a state? There is no question of supporting an incompetent person, whom I had dropped from my cabinet,” he said.
He said that as a minister of the local government, Sidhu failed to clear the files for seven months.
Amarinder Singh denied leaving politics and said that he has a lot of willpower as a soldier and will be active in the upcoming assembly elections in Punjab.
He declared, “I’m not hanging my shoes.” He reiterated that he would take a decision on the future course of action after talking to people close to him, including Congress MLAs. He said Sidhu divided people a few months before the elections.
Captain revealed that he himself had asked those MLAs to attend the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting, and the presence of a large number of MLAs at the meeting did not mean that they were supporting Sidhu.
