New Delhi: Under the series of programme to celebrate 75th years of Indian independence in the form of ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on theme of ‘Swachhata’ activities, New Delhi Municipal Council ( NDMC ) organised a Swachhata Rally focused on ” Say No To – Single Use Plastic ” in and around area of Sarojini Nagar Market and Residential Colonies, New Delhi today early in the morning.
NDMC Vice Chairman – Shri Satish Upadhyay and Member – Ms.Vishakha Sailani participated in this Swachhata Rally and a Sanitation Drive along with shopkeepers, traders, local residents, Safai Sewaks, MOH – Dr. Ramesh and other Senior Officers of NDMC with full enthusiasm to make Swachhata movement successful.
NDMC Vice Chairman – Shri Upadhyay informed that NDMC is organising various activities to creat awareness about “ Say No to – Single Use Plastic ” in New Delhi area. He also appealed to the Market / Traders Association to ensure every shopkeepers should be dropped the garbage/litters in the nearby dustbin instead of footpath or roadside to make the city neat, clean and environment friendly. NDMC Vice Chairman further also urged to the shopkeepers that they will neither litter nor let others to litter, so as to set an example for visitors of Markets .
The Member NDMC – Ms. Vishakha Sailani urged to all Shopkeepers and traders to play the important role in reducing the single use plastic in their shopping and trading activities and help in achieving NDMC first rank in the upcoming Swachh Sarvekshan
