New Delhi: In order to raise awareness on Domestic violence, DLSA NORTH-WEST under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority and Delhi State Legal Services Authority organized an Awareness Program and on-foot Rally against Domestic violence in the Sultanpuri Area. Initially, a human chain was formed by the volunteers to raise the issue, and thereafter, the rally was flagged off by Sh. Kanwal Jeet Arora, Member Secretary, DSLSA in the august presence of Sh. Gautam Manan, Spl. Secretary, Ms. Namrita Aggarwal, Addl. Secretary and Sh. Abhishek Kumar, Secretary, North West, DLSA. The volunteers who participated in the rally reached out to the residents of the locality regarding women’s rights and the need to curb this menace through mutual respect to each other especially women in all the fields.
The program started with the lighting of the lamp by Sh. Kanwal Jeet Arora, Member Secretary, DSLSA in the august presence of Sh. Gautam Manan, Spl. Secretary, Ms. Namrita Aggarwal, Addl. Secretary and Sh. Abhishek Kumar, Secretary, North West, DLSA.
The program was scheduled with cultural programs, street play, lectures and launch of animated videos. These were organized in association with the Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, BC Block, Sultanpuri, NGO Sai Sewa Samiti, NGO DAV Educational & Welfare Society, NGO Tulsa Devi Memorial. The T-shirts bearing the logo & motto of DLSA for the volunteers of the rally were sponsored by Raghunandan Jewellers & Offload event management.
The street play was performed by the ‘I can do it’ Team on the theme of Domestic Violence. The audience was amazed by the effort put forth by the Team.
There was a launch of an animated video, titled “Nyaya Sab ke liye- Legal aid Beneficiaries”. The launch was made live by Sh. Kanwal Jeet Arora, Member Secretary, DSLSA, and other dignitaries. The audience praised the efforts put forth by the entire DLSA, North West Staff.
