New Delhi| Apple CEO Tim Cook met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and asserted that he remains committed to growth and investment across the country. Cook, who is in India to launch the company’s flagship retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi, thanked PM Modi for the warm welcome.

Apple is ramping up its manufacturing in India along with increasing its retail presence. Apple started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017, and since then, the company has worked with suppliers to assemble new iPhone models and produce an increasing number of components.
Apple shipped iPhones and iPads worth $7.5 billion to India in FY 22-23, according to CMR data accessed by IANS, amid a local manufacturing ring push and an upcoming comprehensive retail store strategy.
In FY23, Apple shipped over 7 million iPhones and half a million iPads in the country, registering a growth of 28 percent for iPhone shipments, according to initial estimates provided by market intelligence firm CMR.
